Episode 212 - Worldwide Hotzone Roundup

Hi folks, today we're going to hit a ton of hot zones all over the planet. See there are so many things going on that you won't hear much about if you watch the mainstream media in the US because they are too busy campaigning for the 2020 elections. In the meantime, there is lots of strife and lots of hurting and broken people around the world. So let's talk about some of them, shall we?
First, let's revisit hong kong. We talked about them yesterday a little bit, but I think a lot of people are confused as to who are the good guys and who are the bad guys here. I normally tend to side with law enforcement - or at least give them the benefit of the doubt. And i despise it when people vandalize and wreck things that don't belong to them. In the case of hong kong's protests, however, I think we need to remember the following:
The reason more than a million hong kongers have taken to the streets is because of a proposed law that would allow Beijing to extradite Hong Kong residents and foreigners across the border to stand trial in mainland China. Those massive demonstrations you are seeing are rightly called a ‘last fight’ because if the Chinese Communist Party can extradite those who offend Beijing, civil rights in Hong Kong are doomed. Communist China has already victimized tens of millions of people in its 70 year history. This extradition law would only add to that number.
The extradition law represents a direct threat to the rule of law and to the autonomy of Hong Kong. The ‘one country, two systems’ framework is being wiped away as Beijing puts more and more restrictions on speech...nothing like a pepper ball in the face to say "stop talking".
This proposed law is the last straw for hong kongers. The Chinese Communist Party has been locking up protestors, expelling foreign journalists and arresting pro-independence leaders. A city where civil rights and fundamental freedoms have been a model in Asia is now being taken captive by the single-party dictatorship of Xi Jinping. Now the Communist Party wants to finish the job and absorb Hong Kong.
The people of Hong Kong are standing up to the bully that is China, and America should support them.
Beijing still denies that the Tianamen square massacre took place, but the people of Hong Kong know what China’s communist regimes stands for – and they want no part of it.
Now over to greece where 12,000 mostly Afghan migrants have been crammed into a camp built for 3,000 for months. They finally had enough and lit the place on fire. The migrants want to be on their way to europe to join the other several million who have already made it, and after this fire on the island of lesbos, the government of greece started moving them out. So sometimes burning down your own neighborhood apparently does work, but you have to admit, Europe probably has enough vandals already.
Okay now over to Yemen. We talked yesterday about the huge attacks that were carried out by houthi rebels inside Saudi Arabia, where they killed more than 500 saudi troops and captured several thousand. Well the very next day the Houthis released several hundred of their captives, maybe as a gesture of good will, but more likely because they captured way more than they can feed.
In somalia, there were two major attacks over the past couple days by Al Shabab, the ISIS-affiliated terror group that lives there. One was a suicide bomb against a convoy of Italian peacekeepers, and the other against a US military base - yes we have US military in Somalia, and they are there to routinely bomb the heck out of Al Shabab, so now the terror group strikes back. Fortunately the US base is heavily fortified so nobody got seriously hurt.
In Indonesia, there were riots on Monday - the footage is reallly incredible, Protesters clashed with police as thousands of Indonesian students resumed demonstrations against a new law they say has crippled the country's anti-corruption agency.
Authorities blocked streets leading to the parliament building in Jakarta, where 560 members of the House of Representatives, whose terms ended Monday, held their last session.
Clashes between students and riot police broke out in the evening when police tried to disperse the student demonstrators, who attempted to reach parliament.
Protesters set fires to tyres and pelted police with rocks, petrol bombs and firecrackers near blocked streets.
Riot police responded by firing tear gas and water cannons.
Folks if you ever find yourself in a riot like this - get away as fast as you can. This is one of the most dangerous places to be - for several reasons
-
they could decide they don't like you
-
you could be mistaken for a protester and shot
-
Tear gas isn't fun
-
The news won't even cover it because they're too busy trying to get you to vote Democrat.
Lastly today, I spent all day yesterday working on a CBN piece about the Incel movement. If you remember I dedicated a whole podcast to this issue a few days ago, but here's a special extended version of the CBN piece to help you get a better sense of this rising threat around the world.
That's all for today folks. Thanks for watching.
